22nd ISPA awards gives Internet Hero prize to all who work in the industry

The 22nd ISPA Awards were originally due to take place at a swanky hotel in London in July, but the pandemic put paid to that and the awards were finally held in a virtual ceremony on the afternoon of 18th November.

The big news is that this year rather than any single individual everyone working in the Internet industry, the Internet Hero prize goes to all who work in the industry. The reasoning being that everyone has done such an amazing job of providing an entertainment conduit and kept families who could not meet in touch with each other.?

The value of the UK ISP sector was for all to see at the 22nd ISPA Awards because the entire event took place virtually. Without ISPs, there could be no ceremony this year!

A big congratulations are in order for this year’s winners. 2020 has been a year like no other, but it has also been a year where ISP employees were seen as key workers, broadband has underpinned the entire economy to keep businesses operating and we were all able to keep in touch with loved ones through the pandemic. This is why the internet industry was awarded the Internet Hero award this year. The internet industry has kept Britain Connected, and these winners deserve special recognition for their awards tonight.

ISPA Chair Andrew Glover

The ceremony featured pre-recorded winners speeches, but those who actually won were kept in suspense as multiple companies had to pre-record acceptance speeches and they only found out if they had really won during the ceremony.

For all those who normally attend and therefore may have a bit of spare marketing budget, ISPA has a couple of suggestions of organisations that will value support either through time, resources or donations.

@thinkbroadband I'd like to thank my mum; my dad; my wife. And lastly my son who is my inspiration because he likes watching YouTube.
